This is a view in spring. There are marigolds on the 3 foot benches that along both sides of the greenhouse.

The benches work great now but in the begining we had a problem with weeds and grass growing underneath them.
So we built short cribs 4" high and 3' wide around the greenhouse. We put landscape fabric down and filled the cribs with pea size red granite.

Now everything is nice and neat and we can set pots just under the benches on the gravel and the red stone looks cool. The benches are made from larch which is every bit as weather proof as presure treated lumber but with out the poision.

In the winter we lay the benches on top of the gravel so we can run the snowblower around the greenhouse without picking up the stone.
