Old hat, zone 4, cold climate garden blog.

It looks like the blog is stable so I am going to chance another post.

We have added a new skin.  The old one seemed to waste space and did not include the calender.  This one is one of those free ones that are available because there is no time to construct a custom theme right now.  Maybe later but now right now.

I could not swear to it but it seems like the new version wordpress has an improved spell check.  God knows I need one, public school and all.

The wild bird cam is running on wildbirds.net and the humming bird feeder is in the works.  Each feeder has 2 cameras, one for a 60 second refresh and one for live streaming video.    This way people with a dial-up connection can at least get an image.

The trick now is to get all 4 cameras going at once.  We probably will need to hook up another box for the feeder cam and run the hummingbirds off this one.  I had high hopes that with the xp media edition, dual core chip and a gig of memory we could run at least 4 cameras but it is hard to keep them sorted out and they do not seem to play well together.

If everything goes ok we will put a box in the greenhouse for a garden cam.  We might better as the herb garden is loaded with butterflies.  The bee balm is blooming in red, purple, blue and pink and with all the herbs in bloom its a butterflies paradise.

With all the goings on one thing is going right.  We enjoyed a few days of rain.  We really needed it.

There are more photos of the butterfly but we will wait till the tech tweaks the site before we commit time to posting photos.
